My dad was range officer from 1953-1956 V2s I seen a hanger with bunches of them along with engines on pallets. All came from Germany after the war. My dad worked with Nike Zeus, Honest Johns, and V2 were used for high alitude research. The impact area was way northeast of Roswell at the opposite way from any populated areas. So I dont think any flights went that way ever. Balloons did they were victems of the wind and came down everywhere. I went on many radio tracking of the ballons when they went off range. Quite a slight to see a few acres wrapped in saran wrap after these balloons crashed. What was found in Roswell originated from Whitesands it was the radar reflector made of mylar. My dad always giggled when asked about what came down in roswell he would say im glad I wasnt there to recover those remains. We couldnt take a dump without someone sticking a camera in your face. This was big news to a little obsure town.
