25yr Old Reference to Recently Revealed Mayan ET Deity

I just watched an interesting episode of Unnatural History on HULU. It was called "UFO's and Alien Encounters" and originally aired on April 8, 2000. I tried leave you the url but can't do that, you'll just have to search if you want to watch it.
Anyway, the interesting thing was an interview with a Swiss farmer named Billy Mire taped back in 1987. Besides having images, he also claims to have spoken for over an hour with a female extra terrestrial named Benyathi.<-spelling?
Benyathi, isn't that the name of a relatively unknown Mayan extra terrestrial deity that has rather recently been revealed/discovered? It just seems odd, to me, that Billy Mire claims to have known her name over 25 years ago while it is just coming to light for the rest of us.
