My Out of Body Experience Empty
PostSubject: My Out of Body Experience   My Out of Body Experience Icon_minitimeWed Jul 15, 2009 3:10 pm

I have had several people ask me about this incident in my life, so I will relate it here:

A few years back, I started to have an attack where my breathing was affected. I called 911, and when they got there they put me in the ambulance. I was laying on the stretcher and started to get a very weird feeling. I have had many dizzy spells, and this was definitely not a dizzy spell. I started to look around and saw that things were looking more vivid to me. I immediately thought "Oh, shit! I'm dying!". I started to have a sensation that I was leaving my body, and started to think what would happen when I die. Will I blank out? As the ambulance got to the hospital, I started to float toward the ceiling. My body was limp and still alive, but my soul was not in it. I then realized I was going on a journey and wondered where it would take me. As soon as I thought that, I started to think of my family and how much I would miss them. All of a sudden I was back in my body and the colors and noises became loud (it is hard to describe, but that word seems to fit).

I talked to the doctor and medical staff later and found out I was not given any drugs or pure oxygen, so I ruled out hallucinations of any type.

I have always been a little skeptical in my age, so this event did change many of my perceptions. I have been taken to task by some because I make bold statements such as: I KNOW there is a soul. After my experience, I can state that one as fact. While I cannot prove it using scientific methods, I do know what I experienced.

That is one reason I feel empathy with much of what is stated here. I do try not to be too skeptical (although I still retain that thought pattern on many subjects discussed here), I also want to apologize to those here if I do seem to be knocking their experiences. Everyone has something to contribute, and I will be a better listener. (I still will ask tough questions to try to get at some answers. I will be much more tactful when I do.)

Goddess Bless,

Lloyd

My elder sister "came back". Knew some things she could not have known being in a deep coma for a month. Little things, like where and what her partner and I had for dinner on their wedding anniversary and that I'd nearly burnt it to a cinder. Knew who won the Stanley Cup, knew he'd made final arrangements and where - coincidence. Very Happy Yeah. Sure. She talked about it as "traveling" and not as an unpleasant experience.

Thanks for reminding me kidflash2008, sharing your experience has value and merit. Very Happy

The soul can leave the body without the body dying. I think my experience taught me that the most. It also showed me my body was nothing more than a temple for my soul. I have been pummeled by other sites when I state without reservation that I know there is a soul. I think many want scientific proof of the concept and I do not have that. Just my experience to back me up.

I love your new avatar, fixer. sunny

Yes; other sites - no doubt, pummel-o-rama. I choose to spectate other than at this site. So far, "science" isn't always the best lens to view that which has little to qualify or quantify in limited yet valuable scientific terms. There's no "metric" for absolute understanding - so far. Very Happy

One day the conceptual framework and findings of science may catch up or be caught. Very Happy

Thanks for sharing that Lloyd, I'm glad you had loving thoughts of your family, that was a nice message.

Now you say you were raised a Catholic and you were baptized, confirmed and received holy communion ? You say that you know the body has a soul , ... I just cannot understand why you would make a decision , after knowing everything you know about God and his promises thru Jesus' sacrifice , to jeopardize the eternal destiny of your spirit by rejecting whats been given to you.. its just very difficult to understand. You sound like a great guy with a good head on his shoulders, something just doesn't add up that you would reject the gift of eternal life thru Jesus Christ...after you knew it as the truth, and were baptized in the faith ... because of that, I believe you will return to the faith of Christianity some day , do you feel thats possible?

All faiths and beliefs talk of a soul. The ancient Egyptians especially talked of the soul and its journey after death. Christianity does not have the corner on souls, and even the Bible gives insight as there are other ways. My soul or journey is not in jeopardy because I do not follow Christian dogma.

I was a Pagan when I had my experience, and I am still a Pagan now.

Such is the pity, Lloyd, that unable to perceive there is but one path to the Lord you must spend eternity butt-surfing on a lake of fire, tormented beyond any imagination or sensibility... by a loving God. Hey, you'd had every opportunity to submit to the faith and you just walked away. There are consequences, boyo, in the hereafter AND at present time because of the misery you don't know you're feeling... unwashed in the blood of the lamb of perfect sacrifice. Tsk! What were you thinking, you'll be asking yourself! Tsk tsk! Submit before it's too late! Tsk tsk tsk!

Wow Lloyd,

Good to see that you did not drink NJ's kool-aid, but you did chug the materialist cultural kool-aid anyway. How can you argue for a "soul", mobile and independent from your physical body, and then argue Randle's argument that we need some sort of "physical proof" (or other culturally approved "scientific evdence") for UFO abductions?

When people claim abduction, what do you think is taken? The body, or something more subtle? You know, say something like that thing you call a "soul"? affraid

You can pretend that it is not cognitive dissonance to have it both ways, but you will only be fooling yourself.

Are there PHYSICAL corporeal abductions of the material body of experiencers? Some people think so. Many, like Hopkins or Jacobs are unwilling to accept anything less than physicality for their supposed "abductions". But I think perhaps the most objective voice on the abduction phenomenon was the late John Mack. He was not willing to attribute a physical nature to the phenomenon at all, referring to the phenomena as, perhaps, visionary experiences by "experiencers": rejecting the terms abduction or abductee altogether.

Unlike Randle, Mack knew that there was a distinctly fuzzy psychic element to the phenomenon that precluded any kind of universally accepted "physical proof". Randle is busy trying to hammer psychic square pegs into uncooperative reductionist round holes - then complaining that the evidence just is not the right shape to be "real". Sleep

So, do you think that if a being was able to take your "soul" without your knowledge, that you would be able to distinguish such an experience from an actual physical abduction? Now that you accept the concept of a consciousness that is a separate and independent entity that merely resides in your physical body, without any "physical" proof for the same, how can you, paradoxically, demand physical proof for abductions?

Aren't "experiencers" merely reporting their personal conscious (yet non-physical) experiences as best they can, just like you have in the first posting of this thread?

And because of this, don't you think that the demand for physical proof is, far from being rational, unreasonable? Hopefully you see the conundrum here.

Like I said, you can't have it both ways......

Oh yeah, to NJ: you don't need all of that Jesus stuff to ensure the "eternal life" of your soul. Science has already shown that energy does not disappear in the universe, but only transmutes. In other words, the energy that is your spirit is already eternal: No long waits in purgatory, or wholesale consumption of religious brainwash required..... Wink

Cheers!! rabbit

Mike ,

You're trying to preach to the choir about ones spirit and eternity , we Christians already know that the spirit will either spend eternity with God, or seperated from God in hell ... yes, for eternity.

Glad to see you're catching on ... where do you want to spend eternity?

With God ?

Or in hell with the others who mock and reject God?

Either place will be eternal ... the choice is yours to make.

Yes, I know you were a non-believer when you came back , its easy to see that you were being given another chance , its sad that you aren't able to acknowledge it though.

You boast that your soul is not in jeapordy by rejecting Jesus , but who are you to make that claim? You don't know, so why act so sure?
In all of your wisdom you are like a babe in the woods , you're not sure of anything , you're struggling to understand ufo's and our own government , yet you think you are qualified to know the mind of God?
In all your greatness and wisdom you've been able to judge the creator of the universe and everything in it and deem his sacrifice on the cross as irrelevant? You're pretty high on yourself aren't you?

Mike, I guess I look at the UFO subject as just nuts and bolts most of the time. I know I should also look at the fact that not all UFO phenomena is from aliens traveling the stars too. There are probably many other dimensions and universes that can be traveled on another plane altogether. Maybe the abduction researchers should start to separate the nuts and bolts cases with the metaphysical. I am coming around to what you are thinking on this subject, that there may be more than one type of incident going on. Ufology needs to recognize this and move on.

I do enjoy my Kool-Ade, but I like it sugar free. sunny

As you can see, I can change my mind on ideas, and abductions is one of them. flower

LakehurstNJ, I have a very spiritual belief system in which I view the Earth as a living entity. We are products of this entity, and She gives us life every day along with the Sun. I have believed this more after my experience than before. There is a connectedness between all life and the Universe.

One of my problems with Christianity is that it does not answer all the questions. Reincarnation has been researched and shown to be quite possible, but the Church denies this area and condemns those who look into it.

I do not reject the teachings of peace and love from Jesus. I just think he was a man who was the son of Mary and Joseph who was directly descended from David. There are many areas in the Bible which state Jesus is a descendant from David through his father Joseph.

Yes, Jesus could be considered a Prophet and a Teacher as he was a rabbi also. The Son of God idea started after his death and was not really incorporated into the Church until Constantin, who was a Pagan himself.

Lloyd sunny

"One of my problems with Christianity is that it does not answer all the questions."

What one question does Christianity answer about, well... anything? Excepting, of course, the puerile tediousness, unwelcome proselytizing, and prosecuted ignorance of too many of its adherents.

Lloyd,

Hey, thanks man! It feels like Christmas. After a few years of posting my rantings, you may be the first person whose mind I actually changed! santa

Our culture is deeply in denial about a lot of things. It only takes a little expansion of your cognitive frontiers to see that. A so-called "supernatural" experience is one of the mechanisms our reality seems to utilize to expand our awareness. Only the mentally constipated fail to heed that call. I am glad to know that you are not one of those people.

Cheers!!

Alfred, I am with you on the questions answered. I am trying to be nice about Christianity. I do think the knowledge part of Christianity is good, but that was eliminated in the early stages of the religion. As you can also see, dogma and preaching are the norms nowadays.

Mike, you have won me over that there are now two kinds of abductions and we need to treat both of them equally seriously. I think many of the researchers out there agree on this, although they may specialize on one type of phenomena (like specialists do on other sciences).
