Hi all,
What seems to be the most popular brand of metal detectors being used in the search for UFO material or pieces at landing sites and crash sites ? Everyone be safe in the field.

Hi everyone,
It appears that no one uses or has any interest in this subject. It is just another tool used in the UFO hunter's aresonal in the search for artifacts. But it is a very interesting subject from a technical viewpoint. Metal detectors have seen quite a number of advances in the last 5 years. By the way I want to say hello to Mrs.Birnes. I hope you and Bill are doing well. Ok everyone be safe in the field and good luck in your search.

Hi all,
I have to wonder if say you could approach a UFO as it is on the ground with a metal detector and sweep the outside of the craft with your search coil that it would just absorb the magnetic field ? Just a thought. Good luck everyone in the pursuit of these UFO''s.

Hi everyone,
Search coils are the business end of the metal detector. But just because you have the biggest badest coil does not mean you will go deeper into the ground. There are many variables to this and target masking is one, also more ground noise and if your located in a mineralized area it will be worse. If your using a VLF type metal detector penetration will suffer in noisy ground. Ok I hope all of you are making contact and good hunting.

Normally I would consider this spam, but I have been to this site many times because I am a big fan of treasure hunting and it really is a great site for detectors. So I guess I will leave up this post. Wish I could afford some of those super detectors, but I can't right now and will have to deal with my old cheap one. Just a suggestion, but dowsing rods and pendulums would be cool to add to the site.

Frankly, dowsing rods and metal detectors can be used in various experiments regarding UFOs. Though detectors would be most useful in an area where a crash or siting had taken place to look for artifacts.

Nice to hear from you and I am just trying to see if any UFO hunters have metal detectors in their tool box. But honestly if you think it would be fair to all to delete my posts then I have no problem with it. I'm probably boring most on the forum anyway. That's cool you have a metal detector yourself. I love metal detecting in general too. I hate to say this but I don't sell or use dowsing rods or LRL'S because I don't believe in them but if it works for anyone then more power to them. I know what you mean Lesley, some of these metal detectors are very expensive. I wonder which metal detector brand you use ?
I will stop putting the name of my company in my signature. I was going to advertise in the UFO mag but didn't work out. Nancy is a very nice lady and I appreciate her very much. No problem, as I said, I like your site and products.

What little dowsing I know I learned from a WWII vet. He learned it in the military and swears by it, he has found all kinds of cool stuff using just wire hangers. I haven't experimented enough to be sure, but I think there is something to it.

Not sure what brand I have, it is out in the garage somewhere. It was super cheap though.

Thanks for the nice comment on my website. I wonder if the Veteran found any landmines using dowsing ? Actually I have seen the hangers work on locating metal pipes Actually Lesley there are a couple of brands that even had good working cheap models but knowing your detector and practice go a long way. ok I will go now and thanks for being nice and as always be safe in the field So get your detector and go out to the park or beach and add a little to your bank account.

By the way, another tip is to always keep your coil parallel to the ground through each sweep of the search coil. This will get you more ground coverage and depth. A lot of people will actually lift their coil off the ground at the end of each sweep and this is called UFO'ing the coil. Be safe everyone.

I have thought of how to respond to your analogy of a metal detector for landmines. It is not funny to me because I have a relative that lost a foot to a landmine in Vietnam, that's all I have to say about this.

Actually I share mine with my son.
What we do is use the old maps to find the now not in existance towns down here in florida.
A good probe is required and a shovel.
Oddly enough bottles for cough medicine are the most common find.

Sounds like you and your son enjoy metal detecting. Yes it seems that in certain areas glass is plentiful. I would like to find one with old money it ! What do you use for a detector besides the probe? Ok Dave have a good one and also good hunting.

Actually I had a large friend 6'7" marine who saved my life. Where and how isn't important cept it was the "nam" in country just South of the DMZ.
He was a good man, unfortunately he lost the lower part of on leg, thanks to one of the cupcake ap mines
Last time I saw him was at the VA hospital in Ga. He didn't even know that he had stepped on it.
He deserves every thing the V.A. can give to him. I will never forget him. You couldn't find the cup cakes
they were made out of plastic. No metal.


The orignal joke (the one I heard) was how does the Navy find mines? The Answer is, "With ships!"
The one for the Marines was "With their feet." Interservice jokes. I was a C.B., he was a Marine.
I got shot in the leg. Kinda immobilized me. He came an got me, picked me up and carried me to the nearest hole. He's the hero not me. God bless them all.

Yep I do enjoy it. the prob is for looking for the old trash sites. The best junk from the early times wound up burried in the holes. I use a garret ace 150. I have a nice collection of old medicine bottles.

I got started using one for finding lost water and waste water valves and galvinised water lines.
When you get a reading you use the spring steel probe to find it, if its deep. Carefully because some idiot contractorsthink a way to save money it to put the power lines in the same ditch.

I retired and it was a present from the boys. The one at work, I found a dozen men's wedding rings.
I have found one silver dime, dated 1892 at an old town site. My most important find was in my own yard.
I found my wedding band, the one my wife got me. LOL

I have researched an old gold and silver treasure from the civil wars days. A leather bound box containing the confederate treasury from Tampa. The story goes that when the union invaded tampa the confederates sent the treasury, containg some 50 pds of gold and silver south to the gamble Mansion for safe keeping.
Supposedly a dispatch rider going north met up with the buggy going south at one of the little Manatee river crossings. Since the union held both places and the troops didn't want the union to get thier hands
on it. They buried the treasure under an oak tree at the crossing. No one has found it yet! But then I wouldn't tell any one if I did.
It's a good way to get out to nature and do a little walking arround. Always get the property owners permission first.

Any good rf detector would work. I have an old deqauser for the tube type color tvs.
You don't want to turn it on arround your computer though.
I seem to remeber that some of the contacties reported radio trouble when the events occured.
