No, it's not the law as I understand it. You can own a copyright, generally which you've paid for. Examples of free copyright are all artists work. So, if the copyright has been paid for (presumably this is the case here) you can sue for relief or choose to ignore the infringement. However, this also appears to have international dimensions so a copyright in the US doesn't necessarily extend internationally. Most name copyrights like "British Airways" are pursued when someone else sets up an airline more or less saying "No, we aren't British Airways, but we are a British airline" won't wash.
