This is the newest UFO Invasion film coming out in the US this Friday *edit: facepalm I am mistaken went to buy tickets and realized it comes out march 11th....doe!!!* . It is loosely based on the Battle For LA incident in WW2 where a object appeared off of the coast of LA that was thought to be Japanese... thousands of rounds were fired at it but couldn't hit it. It was reported and then dismissed.

The american R&B Artist Ne-yo is in it which is kind of Odd but the trailers auto tune alien voice is creepy. I will be posting a review on my face book page and here on this forum. I hope it doesn't suck like the movie skyline.

The premise of this movie is kind of scary. The alien presence is scouting us out before they attack and occupy us for our planets resources. You'd think that another species would step in to prevent invasion. But whatever.

I am looking forward to it.

Would seem then that the movie ends with humans winning or the wounded aliens retiring to attack another day doesn't it.

I dunno. That ending would be pretty weak. I hope they don't pull an M.Knight and create them with a retarded weakness like bacteria or water because surely if they were scouting us they would take these factors into consideration. I have seen the photos of the aliens and the soilders are a weird bioroid creature. possibly humans that were hybridized and given cybernetic implants or what not. No explanation given.

Quite frankly I hope the movie isn't cliche. Perhaps the movie ends with a nuke being deployed ending the movie. The aliens winning and occupying the planet leaving the remaining human race to form a resistence or humanity just flat out losing. I read that the movie isn't really character focused and the story shifts to unit to military unit.

Surely If they had the tech to come to this planet humans wouldn't be able to stop it. The only plausible ending is that the arrival of these bio-roids are what another alien race were trying to warn humans about and perhaps alien beings who have an interest in the planet earth will step in and destroy the invading army. A third alien race would be a shocker... or it is also possible like in the movie skyline humans will get scooped up their brains removed and then implanted into alien shells.

I am going to see if it is a steaming pile friday night

Hello All,

With aliens very much alive through the recent efforts of Hollywood it should be a banner year for UFO Conference attendance. Where the only difference between the people that attend and the ones who don't will be the fact that the ones who don't attend won't have the letdown afterward and will have a few more bucks in their pockets. I'm not being cynical, I just dislike predation.

I doubt they'd ever make a movie in Hollywood or Bollywood that didn't have a populist ending.

True. In the U.S. in order for movie and documentary makers to use military resources and hardware the script ands film is in subject for review of military and must show the U.S. military in a positive light. This type of censoring makes me think that the U.S. will find a way to win and the mysterious alien colonist will leave and not fuxx with the U.S. which in my opinion would make the movie suck.

So the franchise wont die they the aliens need to have colonized the planet for a few years and a human resistance needs to form for part 2. Think of video game stories like GEARS OF WAR or Halo. We will see on Friday. I mean they made video games where the aliens were successful why not a movie. Think Crysis 2. google it and watch the videogame trailer if your not into gaming.

It wouldn't surprise me if a secret weapon like in Crysis pops up. Hell I'd sign up if I would get a nano suite to fight alien invaders :p

PostSubject: biggest dissapointment ever   Battle for Los Angeles Icon_minitimeSat Mar 12, 2011 2:55 am

have been waiting for months to see this movie. Aliens invading the U.S. How exciting. Unfortunately Battle: Los Angeles was as generic as the title. It was nothing but one long recruit/military PR video for the marines. If your a marine you'll love it... If you love scifi you will be disappointed. I mean the premise wreaks from a M.Knight Film. The aliens invaded the planet for of all things water. They send ground troops in and then eventually gain air support etc.with a command ship under ground for drones. The film plays out as exactly like INDEPENDENCE DAY. DESTROY THE COMMAND VESSEL SHUT DOWN THE DRONES and other ships. Ridiculous and boring. They came from another solar system... why not place orbital command satellites around the planet... knock out all of the communication human satellites launch a emp burst, create a earth quake in the middle of the ocean causing a major tsunami and then send your infantry etc. to mop up. If they had advanced scouts instead of hitting major population centers destroy oil supply lines etc. Then our military will expend it's resources. Hell if they wanted to pump ocean water then they could have simply landed their stations in antartica and the north pole and sucked the planet dry before anybody could respond using less resources

Honestly I am surprised that that one country didn't simply nuke them. They obviously didn't have the ability to shut down normal missiles so one can assume they couldn't prevent a nuclear or atomic missile... This alien invasion was another epic fail. They had all of that time to scout out humanity yet this was their plan... wow. What would be the point of expending resources to occupy an inhabited world. water isn't rare in the universe and the comment that liquid water is rare is an ridiculous assumption because a) if their ships are powered by water they had to fuel up somewhere before dropping planet side and b) ice exists in a frozen state floating in space on on planetary bodies. Seriously it would be easier to mine ice and melt it rather then creating a full military campaign

A lot of people were disappointed in the theatre. It was pretty boring. Independence Day/ Terminator rip off minus Will Smith. Neyo's performance was bleh? I wish I went ahead and waited for the dvd or download online because this movie was a waste of 8 dollars. I rate this movie 3 out of 10 stars I should have seen mars needs moms. Too many crappy over dramatic patriotic crap not enough alien action.

This is why I wait; plenty of time to know what's coming. My son took me to see Tron in 3D ... waste of money.

I didn't like the movie. It could have been so much better. Not very good acting and a bad plot equals me not buying it.
