| For me it's a tie between Paranormal State on A & E and Ghost Adventures on the Travel Channel. Two shows with different angles on this genre of paranormal, but finding really good evidence of spiritual activities. | |

| I don't often watch the ghost shows, but my favorite to catch is Ghost Adventures. I also like a lot of those haunted travel shows on travel channel. | |

| Good grief! We cannot get UFO Hunters, a quality show, renewed quick enough, and yet there are more than enough of these "ghost" hunting shows hosted by young kids/teens! | |

| The cable networks want to cater to the teen boy (or mook) audience. They have been largely ignored up until now. They want to start product loyalty at that age.
I do wonder who will cater to us older viewers? |

I do wonder who will cater to us older viewers? Not only older viewers, but where are the women? I wrote about this for an upcoming Beyond the Dial, but there is a sad lack of women not only on paranormal tv, but on History Channel and other such cable networks. History Channel seems to be the worst though, their programming seem to be directly aimed at only attracting men -- Ice Road Truckers and Axe Men are good examples. I have noticed a woman on Ice Road Truckers lately and I hope they start adding more women to their shows. Just out of curiosity -- wouldn't even the men like to see more women on paranormal tv shows?

And there's actually a show called Girly Ghost Hunters featuring a bunch of teenage girls!

| Millipede on your ideal about putting young teen girls on the show,Please not.
Its sad that they put the ghost show on without the training or showing how to protect themselve. I know that everyone has a right to do there thing but I feel that those producers are playing with energies that they dont understand and somebody, or place is going to get hurt. I've had a few fame seeking older friends who have gifts (they can see and feel many things) that where on one of those shows and they said they didnt want to do the right thing with the energies Ghost/spirits, they only wanted to have a great shot and a place to come back too later. I know of a sweet teenage girl that is going to do one of the ghost show and her mother didn't want her daughter to be trained before she went on the show because she thought the person who offered wanted part of the fame and mama wanted it all for her daughter.

| They figure women have channels such as Lifetime, Oxygen, HGTV, Food Network, TLC, Halmark Channel and others geared toward them. With all the young men and women being catered to, they are leaving out people who are 40 and above. |

| I did know about women on Ghost Hunters international and also Most Haunted has a woman. I have never heard of the girly ghost hunters and think I would like to keep it that way. Maybe a lot of women like Lifetime and Oxygen and those types of networks, but I don't care for them myself. I like a balance, men and women. I don't even like Oprah. I do like House Hunter International on HGTV though. | |

| I think us older viewers do not care if a show is geared toward women or men. We enjoy the programs for the people and information/entertainment. It is nice to get a balanced view on the shows that are paranormal, but they are geared toward a younger crowd or group for advertising purposes. It is really about the money in the business of cable and broadcast TV. |

| If its a female that has information, knowledge that would be fine another stronge voice to hear from. If they add a woman just to have one / her looks to try to draw younger viewer it will not be the same show. I like UFO Hunters because I respected the show and I wouldn't if they put on a young air-head just to keep the show. | |

| Paranormal State is the best, no question!
Though I did enjoy Psychic Kids, because Chip is my favorite member of the PRS team! <333333 I mean, how often do you see a practicing psychic with a psychology degree? Even my skeptically clueless dad had to agree that that was something he'd never heard of.
Some of the psychic kid phoenomena totally ruled, this one girl on it had a dream portending a flood about two weeks before Katrina, maybe less. When she woke up from it she told her parents to get extra blankets, bottled water and flashlights.
and what were the three things Katrina relief asked for? Extra blankets, bottled water and flashlights. She got it on the money and she wasn't even ten! How many psychics can claim that kind of accuracy?

| I guess I'll bring this thread back from the dead. Mostly because aside from UFO's and the like, ghosts are my second passion. So I'll weigh in here.
1. Paranormal State - I think it's kinda cheesy with the religious aspects of the show.
2. Ghost Adventures - Zak Bagans can't seem to pass up any possible opportunity to work some muscle flexing into every shot the camera happens to be pointed at him.
3. Ghost Hunters - Seems to take a somewhat scientific approach to their investigations. All in all my favorite.
4. Destination Truth - Love the episodes about ghosts, they seem to have some luck with thermal imaging. Good UFO episodes, not too into cryptids though.
5. Fact or Faked - Some good episodes, although some of their attempts to recreate the videos in question are questionable themselves.
