| The stone resides in Mecca. The center of the Muslem religion In thier holiest of holys resides the stone baaha (i think thats how its spelled) Every year the Muslem pilgrams travel great distances The chant the koran as they march around it. At the proper intervals they kneel and pray Yet is nothing more then a nickle iron meteor What then drives them to worship this stone. Why did they keep it hidden behind heavy cloth drapes? Does any here know the answer? Enliten me if you know.

| People are nuts that way. Same thing with good luck charms and lucky rabbits foot or anything a person can conjure false hope over and have faith in. Hey, you asked.
Seriously though, people will kill to protect beleifs, so don't question things like that. |

| Beliefs are just things we decide are true , based upon what we decide is evidence to suppot our individual hopes of what may be true .
" i believe " is the problem perhaps . Or maybe the answer !
Nothing can be proven in fact . Only beyond reasonable doubt .
Love that one , "reasonable doubt "
Of course , you decide .

It is the holiest artifact in the muslem religion, when they make thier pilgrimage to mecca by the multitudes. Some sects crawl when they approach it. The largest religon in the world. davefair | |

| Here's the answer to your query! According to "The History of Islam" by Robert Payne. (I'm paraphrasing so there's no copyright infringement.) The Black Stone was worshipped before Islams foundation. It was believed to have fallen from the moon, and was associated with the Moon god Hubal! It was enclosed in a temple called the Kaaba. Worshippers came to the temple and worshipped in the buff! Performing a circular parade around it; just as the followers of Islam do now. | |
