| Many Native Americans have tales and drawings of such large beasts. Many hunters, game workers and police have sighted such creatures. I was wondering if anyone here has ever had a sighting or encounter with a Bigfoot like creature?
The evidence to support such a creature is shaky, but there are a lot of reasons why such a beast could exist:
1. Vast wilderness. There is a very huge tract of wilderness in Canada, Alaska and even the Northwest area that have not had humans set foot in it. It is quite possible for a large family of creatures to exist in the area.
2. Footprints. Many footprints have been faked, but there are some that have ridges and other formations that cannot easily be faked. Some researchers have a huge collection of foot imprints, and they are convinced the tracks they have are not fake.
3. Patterson film. This film has been analyzed a lot, and some think it is a fake. However, the point that gets me is the Bigfoot shown is a female. Why would someone go out of their way to make it a female? The breasts look very real and hard to fake. Also, a recent analysis of the film showed muscle movement that could not be faked. Add to that the way the creature casually strolls past the filmmakers, and this film is probably the real deal. Someone who was faking it would have the creature run past them so as to not get a real good look at it.
4. Good, credible witnesses. The best cases have very good witnesses who have no reason to lie. The 1970s case where a Bigfoot was running along Interstate 84 in Oregon is a good case, and had four policemen report seeing it.
Arguments against the theory Bigfoot exists:
1. No evidence of Bigfoot. Aside from tracks, no fur, DNA or even a dead body or bones of one has been found.
2. There would need to be a population of a thousand to keep the Sasquatches going. Why hasn't anyone discovered them?
3. People who see them are mistaking bears, etc. Not the strongest argument for me, as most people out west know what a bear looks like. It is always possible for some to be confused, but I find it unlikely.
What are your thoughts on the subject of Bigfoot? |

| I believe Bigfoot exists do to the large amount of sightings. There is no way they're all misidentified bears or hoaxes.
As for what Bigfoot is however, I really don't know. I used to believe that Sasquatch was just some sort of unknown animal. After reading some of the stranger accounts however, I'm beginning to wonder if it's a multidimensional being or even extra-terrestrial.
One thing is for sure and that is that Bigfoot is far more intelligent then many want to say. I think in order for them to have avoided capture and even leave behind no dead bodies, they have to be. They might even have some form of culture, who knows...

| Now your in my areana. I know they exist. I have observed one for a lengthy period of time. In fact, as often as I can i go to the area that this one was sighted. My team has collected alot of evidence from this creature. But it is out intention to develope a relationship in which this one and his or her family will be comfortable with.
The DNA does exist but we have nothing to compare it to.

| One reason why I like the show Monster Quest is that they do have many very credible witnesses. The episode dealing with the Boggy Creek incident had a hunter who was perched up in a tree who had an encounter with a Sasquatch. This was a daytime sighting, and the creature moved around the seat the hunter was in. I know I would of wet myself if I was there (or worse, but this is a family site!), and I know the hunter was terrified too. He definitely would of known if it was a bear, and got an excellent look at the creature.
I do find it is amusing that the debunkers always state it is a bear walking on two feet. I would imagine a bear would run on all four feet to get away from such encounters, as they tend to not like people.
They have had DNA samples, but most of them have been contaminated or are too decayed to get any real results from. I also know that nature takes care of bodies in the forest awfully quick. The Sasquatch probably buries its dead, as many hominid species do such a practice. I also believe the creature could be Gigantopithecus, a large species of hominid believed to be extinct. They grew over eight feet in length, and could account for such sightings.
I want to thank all the responses to my article, and thank those for sharing their experiences. |

| That is one odd creature. It is too bad their are no remains to take a DNA test and find out what it really was. |

| By far my favorite legendary creature. It's the one creature I hope one day we will find out if it's real or not. Maybe it's just our perceptions getting distorted in thick forest areas. Who knows? | |

Are you familar to the oliver the chimp story. He was a chimp that walked upright all the time and had facial features of a hu-man. Some say he looked more hu-man than chimp and even chimps avoided him when in his company. He prefered hu-man company over chimps. |

Back in 1965 around monroe michigan a girl and her mother while driving were attacked by a bigfoot type creature. You know about that. That would be the christine van acker story. The creature bashed christines head on the car door and she got a big black eye. It was in newspapers and local news here in green bay wisconsin as well as all over the country. |
