Crash in Ottawa?

Kevin Randle's blog has an article about the alleged crash in Ottawa. Major Randle contacts a friend who has been checking in on the story:

This story has been making its rounds in some of the sites, and this article should be useful for those who want to know what, if anything did crash in the river.

Since the object was taken, what is needed now is eyewitnesses to the actual crash and/or any documentation that something unusual was taken.
