PostSubject: Hello from Carmel by-the-Sea   Mon Aug 10, 2009 6:39 pm

Ya that's the actual name of the city. It's a sweltering 72 degrees today.

Some of you might have read my comments on the Editor's blog before. I love the show. Love Bill and the gang. I enjoy giving Kevin a hard time, lol, Hey he's got a hard act to follow.

I'm always saying Kevin could easily be replaced by Katee Sackhoff. And she wouldn't have to be skeptical or anything. But as Bill himself told me......."No girls allowed". Mad

Anyway, enough rambling. On with the show.

Cheers,

Ace

Welcome aboard! 72 degrees! We are having a hot and humid spell in Chicago of recent, although it has cooled off today.

I hope to read more from what you have to offer as you also know one of the cast members.

Ah, don't get me wrong, I don't really know Bill. I was just lucky to get to I.M. him several times on-line. It was really cool of him to do it for the website. I guess 80% of the people logged on were to nervous to ask Bill a question, the other 19% only had one question and I was like robocop. Gosh I asked Bill everything from the Dragon's Triangle to why he wears those shades all the time.

Bill was Very Very cool to take the time to answer almost all of my questions. He DID confess that he thought Tonguska was an asteroid Rolling Eyes

But I'd like to thank Bill again for participating in that on-line chat.

Thanks Bill.

Welcome!
I'm new here too.
Now ... you people and you talk of "heat waves" ... come on down to Kentucky! We've got 80s and 90s PLUS oppressive humidity, now that's HOT! Wink

Ace, Tunguska is now thought to be a comet. There have been many stories of late of scientists finding some clues as to it being a comet.

Superfan, I lived in Louisiana for a while, so I do know what heat waves are. (My landlady used to live in Central America, so she has us all beat on heat and humidity!)

Only one problem with the comet theory. Why the fricken "off the scale" Radiation?

I have problems with the comet theory myself. Why did the object detonate in the air? It was less than a mile off the ground when it detonated, and that has always puzzled me. Many give an explanation of the atmosphere, but it would of detonated in the upper atmosphere, not just above the ground. It seems like something made it go off before it impacted. If it were an asteroid, it would of caused a "nuclear winter" type climate on the Earth for a few decades.

While there have been some measurements to suggest the possibility of a comet, the mystery to me will always be the impact or lack of it.
