After reading Graham Hancock's book "Supernatural", I decided to read this book as a follow up. Mr Sams has an interesting theory that the Sun may be an intelligent being. The book has some parts dedicated to that idea, but he also writes about the possibility of intelligence being part of the Universe to the smallest particle here on Earth.

The book is a fascinating read, as the author does hit many topics in the book. One of the problems is he hits too many topics and does not stay focused on the main point of the title. His main point is what many Eastern based religions are practicing right now, and that is the Universe and everything in it share a life force or intelligence.

This is another book I could not put down, as the ideas in it intrigued me. For those of you who are raised with the Western mindset, the ideas may be too far fetched. Since many here have open minds, the ideas in this book should open up a healthy debate on our thinking of what is intelligence in this Universe.

Sounds like an interesting book. I am not too crazy about the "solar god" concept, but must admit that it has validity as far as our solar system is concerned. Sun RULES!

But, as for the inherent "intelligence" of the universe: oh yeah, I am all over that! Quantum physics suggests that this is precisely so. All of those rational materialists who reflexively rail against "intelligent design" are bozos. Isn't it the job of a scientist to ascertain the coherent order of our material universe? Aren't the terms "intelligent design" and "coherent order" synonymous? So, doesn't this make a scientist arguing against the intelligent design of the universe into an irrelevant oxymoron?

Duh.

It doesn't matter, They still argue anyway......

Lloyd, since your reading seems to be going this direction anyway, I would suggest that you might like to read my current book: "The Holographic Universe" by Michael Talbot.

But a warning here: once you have turned our cultural assumptions on their stupid head, there is no going back to your old rational materialist way of thinking.

And that is a good thing!

I will put your book on my wish list. I try to buy some of the books and keep them for future reference when I am in a discussion (so I don't misquote an author or have other errors).

I got Sun of gOd because it had a forward written by Graham Hancock and I was interested in the idea of stars being intelligent beings. (There is also an episode of Doctor Who that deals with a star that is an entity.)

I have many other books on my wish list and a few here I haven't read yet.

The sun is most assuredly an intelligent being. I have had many strange interactions with it.
It interacts with our souls on some level. I believe our souls are made of the sun materials as the sun. I believe it to be a divine manifestation of the source.

Who's seen that new Cage film, Knowing? The sun figures pretty heavily in that one.

Eastern religions do not have the dogma attached to them that Western religions have (although there are many sects of the Eastern religions that do). The Western ideas are more materialistic than they were originally meant to be.

If you want to believe in Satan and such, more power to you. I am not being closed minded as I was raised a Catholic and did not find it to be very spiritual. Knowledge is forbidden, as the Tree of Knowledge was forbidden to Adam and Eve. That still is somewhat true today of both Catholicism and other Western style religions, including Judaism and Islam.

This book is about the idea that the Sun is a being of consciousness. I think that is a wonderful idea and wish the book was more centered on that idea. I am also writing what the author of the book has to state about Western religions.

I purchased this book recently for 8 bucks on Alibris.com I have noticed many unique interactions with the sun during meditation and believe there is much to be learned here on this subject and I hope the book will answer some long awaited questions. The Green Knight and Superman get his powers from the Sun. It certainly is something special.

Unfortunately, the book doesn't really answer the questions. The author does have many unique ideas, but spends much of the book talking about other items other than the Sun. I wish he would of devoted more of the book to the Sun than the other subjects.

Still, it is a very interesting read, even with the other subjects in it. It is more like a primer to people who want to read different ideas.
