Grettings and salutations!
I too know next to nothing!
I hate to tell you how many years it took to arrive at that conclusion
Pray tell us something sbout your self.
As an example
I am a male 64 yrs old.
I have over the years seen some objects in the sky that did not operate like any aircraft that i hvae ever seen.
I am an old general aviation buff. In fact the only flying I can afford any more is fsx
My favorite is the yellow peril, a sterman with navy markings. My dad had one, now I fly mine in cyber space.
So how about you?

Hello davefair,

Shocked Hopefully the cyber version has corrected some of the high-speed landing issues that gave the Boeing/Stearman its well-earned nickname!

Yep it did correct it but to be honest I kinda enjoyed the first couple of bounce
When My dad got it I was real young. We took the car up to pcola to get it. He flew it home. We used us19 for a course home.
lMy mom and I followed him in the car with three cans of gas . When he got low he landed on 19 and filled up. One of the best experiences
a kid could have. He used to bounce the landing gear off of the phone lines when he was comming into thse pasture.
He kept it in the barn. mom made him get rid of it when he ground looped it in a puddle of water.
After that he got an ole piper tripacer, you 'know the one with a stick for a fuel gage.
It was a great time to be growing up in florida.
We had a island house on long boat key, dad rented it to the snowbirds in the winter.
You could lay on the beach at nite and see the b-36 pratice areial refueling. It was some thing to see and hear.
No real light polution back then. They were stationed at Mcdill, where jimmiy stewart made the movie.

Ahhh, the days of old. That was when life was exciting and fun to live. Now days you do anything and your a terrorist to be jailed and the deed is to be splashed across the tv screen and news papers vilifying the reckless disobediance with a life sentence. How dare anyone enjoy life in this day and age.

Now ablout that terr thing.
When one stays off the ole radar screen one is generally left to do as he likes.
I have however watched as they have started to errode the constituon in the name of home land security.
That is truly scary.

Remember when you could play cops and robbers, cowboys and indians, army battle ready imaginary soldier with toy guns outside in public with your friends; now, someone will make a call and you will be hunted, tased, arrested or shot and branded as a terrorist by cops if caught doing that.

Ya, our freedoms to enjoy life, our liberties to walk unmolested by authority and the constitutional law to protect our selves are now gone. We are prisoners in a reality upside down with it getting only worse as technology progresses.

big brother with his spying eyes and ears.
Glider You have to understand.
Once a really old man siad to me "you will never know what it is like to live free." I have found thru the years that he is correct. I will cite
both ruby ridge, The man was a retired green barret. He had given his life in the service of his country. He was singled out and set up by the atf. They provided him with a shot gun that was 1/2 inch shorter then legal. They made the effort to insure, that they quote "had a reason to be there". They were on his property with out a warrant and with out his consent. They killed his dog and his son. Then they used a sniper to kill his wife in an attempt on his life. David Koresh was an ordained minister. He and his flock did not fit into the right mold.
They (the ATF) served a warrant and stormed his compund. Resulting in deaths of him and his flock. So much for religious freedom.
You have to understand That in both cases thier rights under constitutional law were totaly violated. Those people died for defending them selves. Survalince cameras Here in tampa. Are used in Ybor city (some thing like n. orleans) to quote keep the crimanals off the street.
They use a face recogintion system to match for criminals.
If you drive down to our port. you will find coast gaurd and homeland security all over the place. cruise ships and bananna boats.
Terrorists have won thier battle. They have changed us in ways I do not like.

To give you some idea of what goes on on a local level. The fourth ammendment is a bout your right to privicy.
The local count commision made law that allowed the local dog catcher to invade your property to look fo neglected animals.
The county attorney had a fit when I reminded them of that.
the state fish and game officers tresspased on a local ranchers land. His cowboys disarmed them at gun point, He called the sheriff and had them arrested. They were there because no one ever challanged them.
I have been told that you old military men always bring up the constitution. If they are not reminded of the exsisting constitution and its restrictions on thier actions they will run right slap over you.
Gigas is right cops n robbers, and playing at war... They don't like that.
Jessie Ventura (the gov) says don't start the revolution with out me.
Thomas Jefferson, the founding father, said "A little rrevolution is a health thing for goverment." It is as true today.
The school systems are failing, too many students and not enough teachers. I like to call it the dumbing down of america.
My wife taught elementary school for 33 years. We have both watched it happen.
The things that gigas and I learned in school are no longer taught.
I really love the way they rewrote history.

glider we (in the old days) never had to lock a door. We could sleep with the windows open. Children could stay out on summer nights and chase lightineg bugs, with out fear.

I am (sadly) to verbose for my own good. I'll just take my soap box and put it away now.

Hello Dave fair,

I'm not the least bit naive. I do not live in a bubble. I am fully aware of all the points you mentioned and since I didn't personally lift a finger to stop the events at Ruby Ridge or in Waco or in Dofar or in Rwanda or in Cambodia (believe me the list goes on) then as a citizen of this fair planet I am as irresponsible as if I pulled the triggers myself. You may say not true but it is. I never spoke up- I am accountable.

Now not being naive also means knowing that the streets would be a lot meaner if deterrents like cameras were not used. I'm not afraid of them, I've commited no crime and have nothing to hide. I mean think about it- Dade County Fl. would be a worse war zone with way too much collateral damage in the neighborhoods. How would you deter inhumanity given the opportunity?

Anyway, I was being facetious with Giant on two levels: 1) men don't play cowboys and Indians with toy guns (unless there brains have been scrambled from too many tazes of course) and 2) children CAN still play those things.

Also, I do dare to enjoy my life. After a long while of searching for the point of being, that is to say, why we are here, the clear answer to me is this: to be joyous. It may mean conducting my life in such a manner that I don't bring others to hate people places and things but so be it. I can only change me-no one else.

Peace.

P.S. Don't get me started on the dumbing down of our children in schools. If you can get a copy, maybe from an internet site that specialises in old or out of print books, read "NEA- Trojan Horse in America" (you AND your wife) by a guy named Sam Blumenthal and then get back to me. Read it 20+ yrs. ago.

Yes, i'm forced to apologise though, I did not mean to seem to apraise you as naive. I was really saddened by the subject of our lost freedoms. I did not lift a finger either. I am greatly saddened at the freedoms we have lost. We have lost them due to inaction on the part of those of us who knew and did nothing. When I lead the first in disaster recovery team in to homestead, it looked like a picture of hell.
I will never forget it. Have you noticed that Hati has fallen off of the radar? Except for the collara out break?
Now it would appear that a hurracain is headed thier way.
One of the things, that over time, I have noticed is that my country gets started in these wars and seems to alway allie themselves with the wrong side. I'm sorry, I want our kids to come home.
I have a question though, Have you seen the adverts for the movie skyln? My grandson is offering to see it with me.

Hello Dave fair,

Yep, I'd like to see that one too. And by the way, thank you, but no offense is ever taken by me on a Forum. I will, however, lash out at inaccuracies, speculations and suspicions that are portrayed as fact. When it comes to members of ANY Forum who misconstrue information, or otherwise mislead the public mind with unfounded accusations or ungrounded opinion I will take no prisoners! Just the facts, ma'am. Or a good logical reason behind a statement, especially if it can be backed up with a link or a peer reviewed paper. Preferably both.

I am not a debunker but I do so appreciate a solid idea or claim. Separates conjecture in favor of logic and the real world. Especially when it comes to the UFO. A theory is a set of facts The facts themselves have gone through thorough and rigorous testing with repeatable outcomes that culminate in predictable results. The theory can then be used as a working model. Not so easy when it comes to UFOs but IMHO required anyway! A good idea but it does limit my dialogue considerably.

Hello free wheel,

Excelllent! Kudos to you! This is exactly the spirit a Forum should aspire to. Rigorously question it's fellow members to back up what they post. It's the only way to cut to the chase in the overall search for quality knowledge which is, in fact, why we are here!

If someone observes something that generates some idea concerning cause and effect then an idea may result that summarizes the qualities of the thing observed. This generation in called, as you yourself well know, a hypothesis- IOW a hypo-thesis, no facts yet. Then one begins to test (or create a test) in order to begin to prove a component important to the hypothesis. For instance, the fluctuations in magnetic North may have started out with someone noticing that their compass 30 yrs. later was spinning 15 miles from the first location wher it had been spinning.

You can see where this analogy is going. How would one determine that the Pole moves around? One needs to develope the specific instruments that will measure magnetic fields and their flux lines very precicely and in small enough increments that minute differences can be recorded and support hypothesis with repeatable measurements. The pole shift idea then becomes fact but that particular fact becomes part of a larger idea following the reasoning of how it occurs. So in comes plate tectonics and all sorts of geophysics and ultimately astrophysics. Each field loaded with facts which together form a working model of the universe, could be the Big Bang which the facts support as being the most acceptable at this time.

In the end, a theory can only be disproved. Never proved for if it could be then the theory would then become a fact. There can be several theories concerning an observation based on the facts acquired but only the one best supported probably will get funding for pursuit.

The short of it is this- a hypothesis is a concept not as yet based on facts, a theory IS a concept based on facts.

Hope this helps.

Hmmm! to deep for this old man. While I appreciate your wisdom, that is apparent, in the statements that you write. I am aware that to joust with your logic is beyond my poor kine.
So then you need to debate with Alfred, I''ll just take my 76 i.q. over here to the side and read on.

Hello Dave fair,

76? Don't make me laugh, you're at least a buck twenty on your worst day! BTW I have a proposal for this Forum. It's a challenge that may bring all 452 now members out of the woodwork and could even cause FW to stay on.

I actually think you may well have hit the proverbal nail squarley on the head.
to be joyfull is definately a good thing.
I take great pleasure in landing a fair size bass.
I'm a catch and relice guy. (me bieng the relic)
A good size snook will do the same thing (they gotta be cousins)
I know a bank on a river that I stand a fair chance of catching on or the other
I don't eat them because of the mercury content.

Joy always is the thing to strive for.
The bad time are so we can enjoy the good times.
